Ayurvedic Cold Tea Infusion

ayurvedamum_coldteainfusion

Introduction:

In Ayurveda, it’s believed that iced drinks can dampen our agni, or digestive fire, hindering digestion. Instead, this Ayurvedic Cold Tea Infusion offers a refreshing alternative that supports digestion. By infusing hot water with aromatic spices and herbs and then cooling each cup with just one ice cube, we maintain the integrity of our digestive fire while enjoying a revitalizing beverage.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kettle of hot water
  • 1 tsp cardamom seeds
  • 1-inch piece fresh turmeric, thinly sliced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • 1 ice cube per cup
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • 1 slice lime
  • Funny straw or cup for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Place the cardamom seeds, fresh turmeric slices, and fresh ginger slices in the kettle.
  2. Pour hot water over the spices and herbs in the kettle.
  3. Let the mixture steep for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  4. When serving, pour the infused tea into individual cups.
  5. Add one ice cube to each cup to cool the tea slightly.
  6. Garnish each cup with fresh mint leaves and a slice of lime.
  7. Serve with a funny straw or cup for added enjoyment.

Serving / Ayurvedic Tips:

  • Sip this Ayurvedic Cold Tea slowly to savor the flavors and aid digestion.
  • Avoid adding additional ice cubes to preserve the potency of the tea.
  • For a touch of sweetness, add a spoonful of honey once the tea is no longer hot.

Ayurvedic Sidenote:

This Ayurvedic Cold Tea Infusion offers a refreshing and digestive-friendly alternative to traditional iced drinks. By using hot water to preserve our agni, or digestive fire, and infusing it with aromatic spices and herbs, we support optimal digestion and overall well-being. Enjoy this revitalizing beverage as a mindful and nourishing addition to your day.
